History of EHJMSU
The school started through the inspiration and worthy services of the project initiator, Sr. Mary Philomena Asanbe (EHJ), whom God used as an instrument to begin the school 29 years ago, precisely on the 9th of September 1996, the then principal at St. Grammar School, Ughelli. The academic session/activities of the school started with an enrollment figure of thirty-two (32) pupils, five teaching staff and non-teaching staff, with classes ranging from KG 1 to KG 3 and primary 1 respectively.
Going further, in 1997, Sr. Theresa Marie Orieso was appointed supervisor to oversee to all that pertains to the school and, to oversee the sister in charge of the school.
Sr. Cecilia Omeife (EHJ) became the first Head Teacher and Sister in Charge of the school. The school had her thanksgiving mass for successful inception and resumption on the 15th of September 1997 with the Rev. Mosignor Tokpen celebrating the Holy Mass.
