It was with so much excitement that Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model School Ughelli (EHJMSU) hosted its inaugural Science, Art and Vocational Day on the 31st March 2026 -- a day dedicated to celebrating creativity, innovation and practical skills.
A vibrant celebration of diversity and heritage! Cultural Day was an opportunity to showcase and appreciate the rich traditions, customs, and values of different cultures in Nigeria. It was a time for management, pupils, parents and teachers from different cultures to come together, share their unique identities, and promote cross-cultural understanding and exchange.
Nigeria's Independence Day was celebrated at EHJMS Ughelli every October 1st. It is a significant national holiday that commemorates the country's independence from British colonial rule in 1960. Schools play a vital role in instilling patriotism and national pride in our Pupils.
At EHJMS Ughelli, in order to providing high-quality care and education to young children, we embarked on Pre-resumption staff training that improves teaching practices, increased confidence, better child outcomes and enhanced collaboration among pupils. The focus were on:
EHJMS Ughelli join the world to celebrate Christmas where we are presented with the new born Christ the king and Messiah. He is the light that puts an end to the darkness in our world, by ushering in justice, peace and order, with the titles: "Wonderful-Counselor, Mighty-God, Eternal-Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6) and Son of David.
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model School Ughelli joins the international world to celebrate 'The World Colour Day' on March 21st yearly. It celebrates all aspects of colour and the impact it has on our lives.
Our holistic education at EHJMSU includes teaching the little to partake at Lord's Table. The Pupils undergo catechism classes for the reception of various sacraments such as Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
EHJMSU took to one of her major co-curricular activities, Inter house sports. In the events the management, pupils, staff and parents celebrated different types of sports ranging from athletics, track and field events and fashion parade.
As one of the events marking the end of the session, EHJMSU had the graduation ceremony of 116 pupils in Nursery3 and 44 Pupils in Basic Six. It was the end of year activity with prize-giving.
