Nigeria's Independence at EHJMS Ughelli
Nigeria's Independence Day was celebrated at EHJMS Ughelli every October 1st. It is a significant national holiday that commemorates the country's independence from British colonial rule in 1960. Schools play a vital role in instilling patriotism and national pride in our Pupils.
The activities of the day include:
1. Flag-Raising Ceremony: Organize a flag-raising ceremony to symbolize national pride and unity.
2. Cultural Performances: Showcase traditional dances, music, and drama that reflect Nigeria's rich cultural heritage.
3. Quiz Competitions: Inter school Quiz competition were organized for pupils on Nigeria's history, culture, and achievements.
4. Patriotic Songs and Poems: Pupils were encouraged to sing patriotic songs and recite poems that celebrate Nigeria's independence.
The Educational Value includes History and Culture, National Pride and Cultural Exchange. The Nigeria's independence has the benefits of Patriotism, Cultural Awareness and sense of Unity.
By celebrating Nigeria's Independence Day in our school, pupil develop a deeper understanding of our country's history, culture, and values, while fostering patriotism and national pride.
